Bishopstrow College has been using Password Maths and English assessments for a number of years, as part of the admissions process for international students enrolling on Bishopstrow’s 1 Year IGCSE Programme. In October 2018, the parent company of Bishopstrow – Inspiring Futures Ltd – acquired Padworth College, an international boarding school offering I/GCSEs, A Levels and the NCUK International Foundation Year programme.
Following the acquisition and in an effort to raise academic standards, Padworth immediately launched an academic scholarship programme to attract students of a higher academic ability/potential. With 80% of enrolments being international students, many of whom have English as a Second Language, it was very important that the admissions process for scholarship applicants including a rigorous English and Maths assessment.
Following on the lead of Bishopstrow. Padworth selected Password for its academic scholarship tests. Not only was Password able to provide an accurate indication of a prospective student’s ability, the online nature of the Password tests ensured that the tests were easy to administer through education agents.
In addition, the fact that the results are available very quickly through the Password portal, was another factor in selecting Password. We have been very happy with our collaboration with Password to date and have recently extended the Password assessments to all applicants applying to Padworth.
